Flexibility I Scalability I Efficiency
The warehousing sector in India has come a long way. Gone are the days when warehouses or “godowns” were spaces to dump excess stock. Today, for any business, warehouses are expected to facilitate efficient supply chain operations. Hence, warehouses have to be both – cost-effective and responsive to the needs of the ever-changing demands of the end consumers.
With annual warehousing transactions in the primary markets to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 19% to 76.2 million sq. ft. by FY26 from 31.7 million sq. ft. in FY21, the sector has established itself as one of the most resilient asset classes that continues to bring significant capital.
Most of the modern warehousing facilities in India are clustered around metro cities. The primary reason is quick access to superior technology and organised retail. However, Covid-19 has gradually imposed a new paradigm on the warehousing sector. Companies, today, are taking cognizance of smaller cities as ideal locations to expand warehousing networks.
Retail, FMCG and e-commerce companies are looking at logistic service providers who offer value-added services and automation. Demand for more robust supply chains has catapulted tier 2 and 3 cities to offer good warehousing options.
Recognising this demand, FM Logistic India is setting up its own warehouses around major hubs like Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai etc, connected to key industrial corridors.
